Theresa K. Balaran is a Portfolio Manager with Brown Advisory. She works in the Washington office, and oversees balanced portfolios for high net worth families. Prior to joining Brown in 2009, Ms. Balaran was a Managing Director at FBR Private Wealth where she served as investment advisor to a number of Washington, DC-area families. Prior to this, she worked as a consultant to the World Bank in Washington, DC. While there, she assisted the pension investment team in its evaluation of global portfolio risk. From 1984-1994 Ms. Balaran worked for Sanford C. Bernstein & Co. in New York in a variety of positions ranging from Manager of Corporate Communications, Senior Associate in the Private Client Services group, and a Manager with the Pension Services team. She has nearly 25 years of portfolio management and investment advisory experience.
