Mr. Schlesinger joined Brown Advisory as a Partner in August 2009. At Brown Advisory, Mr. Schlesinger is a Portfolio Manager and Partner with NSB Advisors, a wholly owned registered investment advisor.  Before joining Brown Advisory, Mr. Schlesinger was a Managing Director in the European division of UBS Investment Bank. After a twelve year career as an equity analyst at UBS, specializing in the U.S. and European Communications Equipment sectors, Mr. Schlesinger lead the global tactical research initiative at UBS. This initiative included the development of new investment products based on the company’s global research as well as creating new research products such as Alpha Preferences. New investment products included both structured products for external clients as well as proprietary trading strategies implemented by the investment bank. During his tenure as a senior equity analyst, Mr. Schlesinger was consistently recognized by independent surveys, including Institutional Investor, Extel, and Greenwich, as one of the top communications equipment analysts. In addition, to his own coverage responsibilities, Mr. Schlesinger also led the European Technology research team from 2005 trough 2007. Prior to joining UBS, Mr. Schlesinger covered wireless communications companies at Unterberg Harris. Before that, he was a research assistant at Alex Brown & Sons. Mr. Schlesinger holds an MBA in finance from the University of Denver and a BA in economics from the University of Virginia.
