Theresa K. Balaran is a Portfolio Manager with Brown Advisory and works in the Bethesda office.  For more than 20 years, she has worked with individuals and families in delivering solutions-oriented advice to help them meet their investment and financial goals.  Previously, from 1999-2009 Ms. Balaran was Managing Director at FBR Private Wealth where she served as investment advisor to a number of Washington, DC-area private investors, families and their philanthropies.   From 1995-96 she served as Managing Director – Client Services for Potomac Asset Management in Bethesda, Maryland.  Throughout 1995 she was a financial services consultant whose clients included the World Bank in Washington, DC where she assisted the Pension investment team evaluate global portfolio risk.  From 1984-94 Ms. Balaran worked for Sanford C. Bernstein & Co. in New York in a variety of positions ranging from Manager of Corporate Communications, Senior Associate in the Private Client Services group, and a Manager with the Pension Services team.
