CEO, FiveAI


Stan Boland is a highly regarded entrepreneur and is currently the CEO of FiveAI, whose mission is to build the most robust autonomous driving software available. Previously, Mr. Boland served as Chairman of NMI, the leading association for the UK technology industry, and was CEO of Neul. He has built and exited two highly successful semiconductor businesses, Element 14 Inc. and Icera Inc., for a combined sale price of over $1 billion. He is best known as the Co-Founder of Icera, the phone baseband chipmaker, which was sold to Nvidia in 2011. Before that, Mr. Boland was Vice President and General Manager of the DSL business unit of Broadcom Corporation, a role he took up after the sale to Broadcom of Element 14 Inc. in late 2000. At Element 14, Mr. Boland was Founder, President and CEO. Prior to this, he was CEO of Acorn Group plc and a director of ARM Holdings plc.

Mr. Boland holds a degree in Physics and Theoretical Physics from University of Cambridge, is a member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers and a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Management Accountants.
