Adela Skenderasi is a partner and portfolio manager at Brown Advisory. She is responsible for managing the investment portfolios of endowment and foundation institutional clients and also providing specific guidance on their long-term investment objectives. Prior to joining the firm, Adela worked for 8 years as a Senior Investment Officer at the International Monetary Fund (IMF), where she oversaw all aspects of portfolio management for the defined benefit plan and healthcare benefit assets of the institution. In 2018, Adela took a sabbatical from the IMF to join the Bank for International Settlements (BIS) in Switzerland, where in addition to overseeing the externally managed funds of the defined benefit plan, she contributed to the alternative investments review and co-authored research papers on sustainable investing and climate change impact on public investors’ portfolios. Prior to joining the IMF, she was Director of Investment Operations for Georgetown University’s Investment Office. Adela holds an MBA with a focus in Finance from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University and has been a CFA charterholder since September 2011.
