Speaker: Janice Nevin, M.D., MPH

Janice Nevin shares her family’s story of caring for her terminally ill father - and the significant challenges they faced despite their collective expertise. She contrasts this with the more common challenges faced by other patients who are less advantaged. As a result Christiana Hospital in Wilmington Delaware pioneered a system to deliver the right care at the right time because of partnerships with social workers community resources and innovative approaches to healthcare data.

Janice E. Nevin, M.D., MPH, is President and CEO of Christiana Care Health System, the largest health system in Delaware. A visionary and collaborative health care leader, Dr. Nevin is pioneering value-based care to ensure optimal health outcomes in ways patients and families value and can afford. Under her leadership, Christiana Care is one of only 15 major teaching hospitals with Truven Top 100 Hospital rankings in 2015 and 2016 and the only major teaching hospital to earn Truven’s Everest Award consecutively in 2015 and 2016, recognizing the greatest rate of improvement over five years. Becker’s Hospital Review named Dr. Nevin among top Physician Leaders to Know in 2015 and 2016.
