Samir Shah is the head of operational due diligence in Brown Advisory’s Investment Solutions Group and works to help evaluate, select and monitor external fund managers, focusing on the risks associated with funds’ legal and organizational structures, operations, technology, service providers and related issues. Prior to joining the firm, Sam was a director of operational risk at Cadogan Management, a New York based fund of funds. Prior to that, he worked as a manager in the Regulatory & Capital Markets Consulting Group at Deloitte & Touche. Before Deloitte, Samir worked at Societe Generale’s Lyxor Asset Management, where he was responsible for analyzing the operational and credit risks related to their hedge fund and fund of fund counterparties. Earlier in his career, he worked as a fund of funds analyst at Ivy Asset Management and at Deutsche Bank Absolute Return Strategies.
