Brown Advisory Names Head of New York Office

Appointment comes ahead of a planned relocation to 520 Madison Avenue
 

New York - June 25, 2026 - Brown Advisory today announced that Danielle Barrett has been appointed Head of its New York office, underscoring the firm’s continued commitment to serving private and institutional clients from one of the country’s most important markets. 

Barrett is a Client Advisor and Partner at Brown Advisory where she works closely with individuals, families, and related entities on investment strategy, asset allocation, planning, and long-term wealth stewardship. In her new role, she will continue advising clients while also leading the ongoing development of the New York office and supporting colleagues as they deliver the firm’s investment, planning, and advisory capabilities to private and institutional clients.

Brown Advisory’s presence in New York has grown in recent years, driven by demand across private client, family office, endowment and foundation, and institutional investor segments. As one of several offices serving clients nationwide, the New York team has developed strong relationships across the city’s investment, wealth management, and nonprofit communities, contributing to increased interest from prospective clients and advisors. 

Today, 83 of the firm’s colleagues are based in New York, and to support continued growth and create additional space for clients and colleagues, Brown Advisory will soon relocate to 520 Madison Avenue. The new office will provide an enhanced environment for collaboration, client engagement, and community connection.

Prior to joining Brown Advisory in 2017, Barrett was a partner at Hillview Capital Advisors, where she advised high-net-worth families and helped lead the firm’s strategic growth. Earlier in her career, she was an assistant portfolio manager at Davy Stockbrokers Ireland. She holds a BBS and an MSc from Trinity College Dublin, is a Trust and Estate Practitioner, and is active in the New York community through the Estate Planning Council of New York City, STEP NY and the Scarsdale Public Library.
