FUND OBJECTIVE
The Fund seeks to achieve long-term capital growth by investing in a diversified global portfolio of investments across a broad range of asset classes. These include direct equities, fixed income and alternative investments and indirect investments through collective investment schemes (CIS).
INVESTMENT APPROACH
We employ a hybrid approach to portfolio construction which allows us to lean heavily on internal resources and Brown Advisory strategies where we believe we have a competitive advantage. We pair our in-house expertise with specialist third-party managers that either invest in a part of the world or a specific asset class where we think they have a distinctive edge.
Our rigorous research including qualitative and quantitative scenario analysis helps define both positive and negative outcomes which enables us to build a diversified portfolio balancing risk and return over the long term.
We believe the best businesses to own are those that can generate high returns on invested capital over an extended period, irrespective of macroeconomic conditions.
Our success will be measured against the Fund’s primary benchmark which is a blend, comprising of:
- 50% MSCI ACWI Net Total Return GBP Index (Unhedged);
- 20% MSCI ACWI Net Total Return GBP Index (Hedged);
- 20% Bloomberg Global Aggregate 1-10 Year Total Return Index (GBP Hedged);
- 10% Bank of England’s SONIA Compounded Index +2% Per Annum.
A secondary benchmark of U.K. CPI +3% per annum will also be applied to the Fund.
