Brown Advisory Makes Three Senior Hires in Boston Office

News Summary

BOSTON — Brown Advisory, a global, private and independent investment management and strategic advisory firm, is pleased to announce that Chris Casey, Dave Ely and Angela Rizzo have joined the firm’s Boston office.

Mr. Casey joined Brown Advisory in December 2019 as a portfolio manager. He most recently served as a wealth market manager and senior investment advisor at Wilmington Trust, where he was responsible for advising clients on investment strategies, client portfolio construction and risk management. Mr. Casey is a CFA® charterholder and a graduate of Yale University.

Mr. Ely joins Brown Advisory as a portfolio manager. He most recently served as a vice president and portfolio manager at Wilmington Trust, where he constructed discretionary investment portfolios to help the firm’s complex and sophisticated clients manage their investment and asset allocations. He is a CFA® charterholder and earned his Master of Science in finance at Northeastern University and his bachelor’s degree at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Ms. Rizzo joins Brown Advisory as a client relationship advisor. She will serve as a trusted resource and thinking partner for clients, and will help clients translate their plans into concrete actions. Ms. Rizzo most recently served as vice president and a senior relationship manager at Wilmington Trust, where she managed trusts, investment advisory accounts, individual retirement accounts and guardianship accounts. She also served as the point person for multiple families. Ms. Rizzo is a graduate of the University of Massachusetts Amherst.

The Boston office’s three new colleagues are deeply involved in their communities. Mr. Casey serves as a committee member of the JFK Library Foundation, Mr. Ely is a board member of the American Council of Gift Annuities and Ms. Rizzo is a committee member of Party in the Park for the Emerald Necklace Conservancy. The firm’s culture emphasizes being involved in the communities where its colleagues live and work, and Mr. Casey’s, Mr. Ely’s and Ms. Rizzo’s dedication highlights the importance of this tenet. The firm strongly believes that serving others through nonprofits is a natural complement to our culture of serving clients.

“We are extremely excited to have Chris, Dave and Angela join Brown Advisory,” shares Craig Standish, head of the Boston office. “We believe that their knowledge and background working with individuals, sophisticated families and nonprofits will be a great asset to our community of advisors in Boston and beyond. Chris and Dave bring extensive investment knowledge and experience, and Angela is dedicated to helping clients achieve their financial, estate and philanthropic objectives by executing on their plans.”

The additions of Mr. Casey, Mr. Ely and Ms. Rizzo to Brown Advisory’s Boston team are expected to strengthen and grow the firm’s relationships with individuals, families, and endowments and foundations. As of March 1, 2020, the firm’s Boston office has grown to a total of 48 colleagues.
